The ABC’s of Me

If you are here looking for the TLC tour for Ru Freeman, author of A Disobedient Girl,  it’s been postponed due to an unfortunate bout of flu for Ru. She’ll be stopping by next week, though…in the meantime, check out my review of A Disobedient Girl.

********************

So. Instead of Ru, you’re stuck with me.  And today’s post really is all about me.

I saw this last week at that other Jill‘s blog.  Actually, I’ve seen it there and everywhere, but Jill inspired me. Because she pretty much has the coolest name ever.

Available or single?

Every Softdrink should have a Hamburger.

Best Friend?

I have lots of friends.

Cake or Pie?

Cake — of the chocolate variety.

Drink of choice?

Water.

Essential item for every day use?

My eyes.

Favorite color?

Green.

Google?

Not only Google, but Google Chrome.

Hometown?

Born in California, moved to Oregon when I was 3.  Moved back to CA when I was 8.  Since then, it’s been Morro Bay. Anything before that really doesn’t count.

Indulgences?

My iPhone.

January or February?

February has more holidays, which means more days off work.  It’s also got that goofy leap year thing going for it.

Kids and their names?

What about ‘em?  Some people go with some weird-ass names.  Me, I avoided kids altogether, so I don’t have to worry about that.

Life is incomplete without…?

Books. Duh.

Marriage date?

I consider marriage to be like kids…unnecessary (for me…I’m not making a blanket statement here).

Number of siblings?

One older brother.

Oranges or apples?

Apples.

Phobias and fears?

Narrow heights.  Like ladders, the edge of rooftops, bridges with no railings…

Quote for the day?

“Your mom goes to college.”

Reason to smile?

Because I’m happy.

Season?

Fall.  If it ever decides to show its face.

Tag 3 people?

You, you and……… Rochelle.

Unknown fact about me?

I’m a Program Review Specialist.  And isn’t that clear as mud?

Vegetable you hate?

Brussel sprouts…they’re nasty, bitter little things.

Worst habit?

I’m lazy.

Xrays you’ve had?

One, I think.

Your fave food?

Italian food.

Zodiac sign?

Taurus.  And yes, I can be stubborn.

My husband loves Brussel Sprouts. He keeps trying to get us to eat them. Ew.

Fun! (I have nothing more intelligent to add.) Sometimes I think I want lots of kids just to name them. But then I realise that’s being silly.

I’m totally jealous of your iPhone and would consider it essential if I had one. We love Brussel sprouts around here.

I’ve not heard of Google Chrome. I always learn something new when I visit you.

I like brussel sprouts when someone else cooks them. I don’t cook them properly apparently and they turn out like the nasty little bitter things you mentioned. I promise never to cook them for you.

I don’t get the weird ass names thing. I know that parents do not what their Jacob to be the 5th Jacob in class but naming your kid some weird ass name is just asking for trouble. Unless you are obscenely rich and can afford body guards. I’ve been told that my kids have good resume names. I think that means I picked well.

Chrome is a browser and I love it! For some reason it performs very well on my computer. I know others have had problems, though.

Good resume names are very important. I’ve come across some bizarre names in the past 12 years.

  7. I hope Ru feels better soon.

I haven’t tried Google Chrome yet. My husband’s family vacations in Morro Bay every summer. They love it there. :-) I don’t think we’ll see fall until around Halloween this year. Yum! I love Italian food.

I enjoyed reading your responses, Jill. Have a great rest of the week!

  9. I always get stuck on the first question for this one. Available or single? But those are the same thing, right? So, I guess my answer would be no. But aren’t they supposed to be either/or questions? Then I move on and I’m doing fine until I get to “Google?” And my brain implodes.

“I consider marriage to be like kids…unnecessary (for me…I’m not making a blanket statement here).”

I wish more people understood this better (or were not so judgemental.) My married friend is not having kids – people think she’s wrong or selfish. Me having kids and hubby that I’m not marrying – people think I’m wrong or immoral. It’s 2009 people!!
