Yep, your review is dead on correct. He does go on and on and on about descriptions of characters. The sad thing is, at times he ruins the story and flow because of the long paragraphs of descriptions. I’m on page 401 of “The Girl Who Played With Fire” and I can hardly set the book down. It’s painful. Hopefully by tomorrow AM, Saturday, I will be done

It is sounding as though I shouldn’t bother reading this one. I didn’t see what all the fuss was about with the first book, so am disappointed that you thought this was predictable and that the descriptions were too long. Enjoy the third!

So intrigued! I just started reading The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo a few days ago (picked it up in the airport on our way home) and so far so good. I have heard mixed things about the series, so I’m interested to see where I fall on the spectrum!

Because she is so small and petite and child-like. That is why she is still referred to as a “girl.” The author mentions it quite a bit. It didn’t bother me too much until you mentioned it. I guess I didn’t notice it before. But in Sweden the first book was called Men Who Hate Women so I wonder who changed it to Girl…the U.S.?

I am on the wait list for book 3.

I am now reading The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and to be honest, when it gets a bit wordy…I skim through those paragraphs. The story is interesting, which is compelling me to keep reading, but I kind of don’t care about the entire history of one town.

As for your comment about “girl.” I agree. I keep reading and thinking that Lisbeth is 17 and she’s not…which completely alters my image of her.
