Some random thoughts…
*The Superbowl needs to kick it up a notch. Including the commercials.
*I never liked The Who. I like them even less now.
*Today, I had planned to write up my Neil Gaiman notes from the talk I saw Wednesday night. That never happened.
*This week I read The Swan Thieves. It was too long.
*I’m currently reading The Year of the Flood. Finally.
*But I also have about 10 other books that I’ve abandoned after about 50 pages. And not because they’re bad…I just can’t decide what I want to read.
*I don’t want to go to work tomorrow.
*I think I need a cookie.

I so agree about the superbowl, and about the commercials. I am in a state of serious dislike over these Bud Light ones. But I am laughing at most of the Dorrito’s commercials.
I’m going to read The Year of the Flood soon too. I just finished Oryx & Crake, and I’m dying to read more Atwood. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts once I get to it myself!

I haven’t been watching the Superbowl – I’m just not interested. I agree with you on The Who.

I thought The Who bit was very embarrassing!

The Super Bowl has stepped it up a notch. I agree that the commercials could be better, but there have been a few LOL moments. Agree wholeheartedly with your assessment of The Who. In fact, questioning why we can’t have another female performer? Discrimination anyone? Sorry that you didn’t get to post about Gaiman. I am looking forward to that! I also do not want to go to work tomorrow. I do have cookie dough in the fridge, and I may just have to go grab it!
Hope you enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Sitting here watching the commercials now and blogging. “Who” care about “The Who”, is my feeling….not anymore anyways. A few of the commercials have been cute but some were pretty boring to. I should be reading and watching the commercials on the internet tomorrow instead.

My husband is watching the Super Bowl as I blog (which tells you how much I care about it). He had no idea who was performing at halftime but I recognized Roger Daltrey’s voice right away. He said the commercials are boring and more are for CBS than anything else.

My thoughts exactly re: Super Bowl commercials and THE SWAN THIEVES. Hope you had a happy Sunday.

No Super Bowl here, as we don’t follow football. I think I saw your tweet about The Swan Thieves! And a cookie sounds good to me, too.
You can have a cookie.
The Who was just sad. Did they practice before the big show?

Agree! I usually take the opportunity to enjoy the somewhere that I usually have a difficult time finding parking (since everyone else watches the game) but decided to stay home instead. Had a difficult time pauing attention to the commercials. The Who really was not a good choice at all. Glad to see the Saints win but really could care less. Only thing that makes me happy is football is over… Which means BASEBALL is starting soon!!!

whoops, meant “paying” attention… but pauing attention was also difficult.

*I never liked The Who. I like them even less now.: I kind of liked The Who (when we were all young), muted them last night so Mr. BFR could rant about how he never liked them.
*But I also have about 10 other books that I’ve abandoned after about 50 pages. And not because they’re bad…I just can’t decide what I want to read.: For some reason I find myself in the same boat. I have bookmarks in the same place in 6-8 really good books. Why haven’t I gone back to them?
*I don’t want to go to work tomorrow. Here I depart — I’m happy to be at work (in my office, at home).
*I think I need a cookie.: I baked this weekend for the first time since New Year’s Eve day. The chocolate cake seemed too sweet for me; I ate a few pieces anyway. I’ll be really, really happy when it’s gone.

Did I miss the Super Bowl??! Was it last night??! I can’t believe I missed it again. I just couldn’t break away from that wonderful book.
WooHoo! I get to be different. I loved the Super Bowl last night and thought it was a great game. I’m absolutely thrilled the Saints one, and I wish I was down in New Orleans right now. I give The Who credit because they are old and performing like that has to take quite a bit of energy; and of course they can still kick my ass when it comes to singing and playing. And we all need cookies.

Until I read your post I had forgotten that the Super Bowl was over. I am glad the Saints won…New Orleans deserves something good to happen!
I hope you got a cookie (or 2) to boost your spirits

A mate recommended me to look at this page, nice post, fanstatic read… keep up the nice work!
The Superbowl commercials sucked. As did The Who.

The Superbowl was sort of lame this year, I just wasn’t interested even though I usually love football. Oh well, at least our food was good.

Cookies – yes! I did make chocolate chunk cookies yesterday and proceeded to eat way more of them than I should have.
I’m listening to The Swan Thieves and it’s ok so far. I’ll be watching for your review as I’ve been debating on getting the book and reading while listening.
Hope you have a good week!

I’m sorta going through one of those “don’t know what I wanna read” phases. I’m reading through This Book is Overdue! at a steady clip, but nothing secondary at the moment. I started Middlesex and I *think* I’ll stick with it. We’ll see.

ACK! You’ve caught what I had in January. Hopefully you’ll find the perfect book that will jump start your reading again.

I totally agree about the commercials! I was so disappointed.
Can’t wait for your Gaiman notes.
What do you think of Year of the Flood?!?!?!?!
If I had cookies, I would totally forward one to you. My housemate showed me a bacon chocolate chip cookie the other day. Weird, weird weird.

I read my book while hubby watched the game. I saw some of the commercials. There were some funny ones but for $3 million for 30 seconds of air time they should all be amazing! I heard it mentioned that because of the whole “nip slip” with Janet Jackson’s Super Bowl appearance they are playing it super safe with their entertainment. Way to go Janet.
Hope you find something fantastic to read. I’ve been feeling the same way. And cookies are always a good thing!
Have a terrific week!
Ugh, the commercials were awful. This was my first Super Bowl, and although the game itself was totally legendary and I cried several tears and am so happy for my home state, I felt the commercials had utterly let me down.

The Superbowl has been a real snore fest ever since Janet’s wardrobe malfunction. The commercials aren’t even funny anymore and the pre-show and half-time show suck! Since I am not really into the game itself, that’s all I have to look forward to. I was disappointed.
