Now, I’m supposed to post ten fun facts about myself and pass the award along to ten other bloggers. I’m going to skip the passing on of the award (not because I don’t love you. I do. I just can’t remember who all I’ve given awards to in the past!). But I am going to post ten (maybe, sort of, not really) fun facts about myself:
1. My fingers are usually purple.
2. My toes, too. That one time I painted my toenails purple was a big mistake…not the best look for me.
3. I’ve always wanted to do a road trip across the United States.
4. My niece is spelled after me. When my brother decided to name his daughter Lora, my mom convinced him to spell it the same way my middle name is spelled.
5. I dream of moving back to Oregon.
6. I have completely filled up our walk-in closet. My poor boyfriend has to use the closet in the spare bedroom.
7. My laptop, Mike Wazowski, has a new little brother…his name is Ike.
8. I quit grad school after one quarter so I would have more time to read and more money to travel.
9. I’ve been a Ranger, a Dolphin, a Bear, a Lion, a Pirate and a Mustang. (Mascots of the schools I’ve attended.)
10. I believe mayonnaise is the grossest thing ever invented.

My husband and I want to do the road-trip thing too – not necessarily all the way cross-country, but we’d like to follow Route 66 someday (“it winds from Chicago to LA…”).

My kids and I just watched Monsters Inc. for the millionth time yesterday. We’ll be watching it again tonight. What did you go to grad school for? I have dreams of quitting school just so I can read more but sadly, I can’t. You’ll be happy to know we are a mayo-free family over here. Mustard please.

I think I should have quit grad school too and had so much more time and money to read and travel, but I put myself through the pain and finished. I don’t really think it was worth it. This is sad…I’m just getting around to commenting and it’s been how many days, pitiful I know.
Anywho, I can’t believe you haven’t been on a road trip across the US! I would have thought you had. I’ve been on too many to make them much fun anymore, but definitely think it’s something you should do at least once in your lifetime and with good music.

I quit grad school after a semester but not for the reasons you did. I quit because mass communication theories put me to sleep and I couldn’t understand why I even bothered with it. Instead, I got a second BA in Journalism.
