A couple of months ago Billy’s friends Dawn and Care went to IKEA and they saw a book that reminded them of Billy! And Dawn sent it to Billy!
This was the first time Billy ever got a book in the mail, so it’s extra special to Billy.
So you’re probably wondering what the book is about. It’s about BILLY! Not me, Billy, but the bookcase BILLY. (There’s lots of famous people with our name, by the way…there’s a whole page in the book that talks about famous Billys, like Billy Idol and Billie Holliday and Billy Corgan and Billy Bathgate and Billy could go on but Billy’ll stop now).
Anyhoosie, BILLY the bookcase turned 30 this year (he’s lots older than this little goat) and IKEA wrote a book to celebrate. The book talks about big things that have happened in the past 30 years, and BILLY also writes about some of his favorite things, like his girlfriend BERGSBO (she’s a bookcase, too). And then there’s also info about BILLY’s history and famous Swedes (did you know that the zipper was invented by a Swede? Billy didn’t.).
Billy pretty much thinks this is the best book, ever, and Billy will show you some pictures as to why Billy thinks this (umm, Billy borrowed softdrink’s iPhone to take the pictures, so sorry about the fuzziness…it’s not easy taking a picture with one’s hooves):

It’s true…Billy does dream of a world of books. So does softdrink. Isn’t it a beautiful dream?

Lucky Billy! I don’t blame him for being happy. Billy’s a pretty good photographer — I hope that Billy and I can talk Softdrink into taking a photo with just the two of us.

I’ve always seen those Billy bookcases because that was my dad’s name and it always makes me think of him. And though we are about 75% Ikea on our home, no Billy! Lots of Leksvik though!

Billy is such a great name.
And it’s no wonder this is such a great book with a title like “Billy”. Riley wants his one bookcase. And book. What have you started, Billy? Now I’ll never rest until he gets his wish.
