October is just around the corner. And you know what that means…
It’s time for the readathon (which will be October 22nd)!
(And also…excessive use of exclamation points…because it’s hard to convey enthusiasm with just a period.) (It’s also time for Dueling Monsters, but that’s not what this post is about.)
And the best thing about the readathon is the cheerleaders! (Okay, so the books are really the best thing, and also the sense of community…but the cheerleaders are just as great!)
Actually, I’m not cheering for the readathon this time (cue frownie faces) because I will be on vacation (happy faces!). BUT! My good buddies Trish (who not only cheers, she does vlogs with cheers!) and Erin (hereafter known as the Cheerios…which is just the best name EVER!) are organizing the cheerleaders this go around. I know the Cheerios are going to do a spectacularly awesome job, and if I didn’t think my mom would disown me for participating while on vacation all the way across the country, I’d, like, totally sign up. For sure. (There’s nothing like talk of cheerleaders to bring out my inner Valley Girl.)
Why am I telling you this, you ask? Because you should give some SERIOUS THOUGHT to signing up . It’s ridiculously fun, and it’ll make you feel all warm and fuzzy for supporting all those readers.

I hope you have fun on your vacation. I guess I will miss your songs and cheers

I love the cheerleaders, and am so glad that they do what they do!

I think you need to reschedule your vacation! Just kidding, but still–the readathon won’t be the same without your cheering.

I’m sure the Cheerios et al will do a wonderful job. But getting YOU for a cheerleader is like winning the lotto. Just saying.
I may dabble in this one. Fall is very busy for us, with football and stuff, but maybe Emma and I will do a mini one. It could be good for my bruised psyche, as I can’t seem to get any traction.

I signed up the other day to read and I am thinking of cheering too for maybe an hour’s block of time. Haven’t decided yet. Too bad you will miss all the fun. But yay! vacation!

I’ve requested the day off from mothering so I can participate this time! Something tells me that halfway through I’ll be wondering if sleep wouldn’t be better than reading, LOL!

YAYYYYYYYYYYY!! Though you will be sorely missed. You are a truly rockin’ cheerleader Jill. Though my mom did bring me some pompoms today…with skittles in the handles. Best pompoms EVER! Not sure the skittles will last another 24 days though…

Sad you won’t be around this year, but YAY vacation! You will be with us in cheering spirit, no doubt, and as inspiration. I lucked out having you as a head cheerleader my first time cheering!

I’ve never been able to partake in the readathon, but this year I’ve got that weekend on the calendar as one during which I will be babysitting. Taking care of kiddos who are actually teenagers and don’t really need me may mean 24 hours of reading! WOOOT!
