I Read ‘n I Read Some More

Evidently all I have to do is post a quick post about why I don’t feel like posting, and suddenly I want to post again. Of course, two posts in a row does not a return to blogging make, so we’ll just see what happens tomorrow. In the meantime…

Hamburger has been playing the electric bass lately. His musical choices are pretty much all over the place, from Sade to Rick James to The Police. Billy has been trying to get him to go a little more hardcore and play some White Zombie, but HB claims ignorance on all things Zombie. I’m not really sure how Billy came to be a fan, although I suspect it has something to do with a former neighbor (6 houses and almost 19 years ago) that would play La Sexorcisto at full volume so that the entire neighborhood got an education on White Zombie’s music. I’m sure all the retired folk in Morro Bay appreciated the devil music.

Because HB won’t play Billy’s requests, I decided to alter “More Human Than Human” just to make our little goat happy. If you’ve never heard White Zombie or Rob Zombie, you’re in for a treat. Okay…not really. It’s pretty hardcore (and this is one of the tamer songs), so listen to the original only if you don’t mind dreadlocked men screaming nonsensical lyrics peppered with obscenities. Although I do recommend listening up to the yeahs, just to get a feel for the song. I think Rob Zombie’s voice is perfect for a song for a little billy goat gruff.

Billy’s version, however, is rated G. Because Billy is just a kid.

I can just imagine the orgasmic screams in there too! Because, you know, that is what we do when we see a big pile of books. I am strangely drawn to White Zombie music. Right after I listen to a little Marilyn Manson.

Sniff. This is awesome. Brings a tear to my eye, it does. Billy is just too sweet. Love the lil goat.

I wish I had read this post before Friday when I got to sub for the music teacher. I had the ‘musicianship’ class which means I got to sit in the room with the guitar boys who were the kind who look way older than they are, the scary ones, tattoos, etc who hate school but dig music class. I wish I could have asked them if they knew any Zombies. I hid behind the PC so they didn’t really know I was there. They played Stairway to Heaven, of course.

  6. The clover one? *giggle* That was good. If you want a challenge, and if you have not already done this one, I had one in my head a few days ago…. 80′s tune. Remember Salt N Pepa, Lets Talk About Sex – but changed to Lets Talk About Books.

I was going to do it but havent yet. I used to change song words all the time in high school. There are still some songs I hear now that I cant sing with the correct words do to my own meddling.
