Here is me lovin’ on a few (okay, just two) books, because I’m too lazy/unambitious to devote a post to each book all by itself:
Paris In Love, by Eloisa James: Not your typical travel memoir…this is more of a book full of travel snippets. BUT. It is awesome. Even if you’re not a huge fan of Paris (like moi), it’s still a great read because James is nothing if not observant and witty.
Bitterblue, Kristin Cashore: I didn’t love it as much as I loved Graceling (probably because I didn’t love Bitterblue as much as I loved Katsa), but it was still a good read. It also made me want to read Fire, which Graceling couldn’t quite do.
Plus, they both have pretty covers, so they’re nice bookish eye candy to have hanging around the house.
And I’m afraid that’s all I’ve got to offer on both of these, although I’ll add that if you’re thinking of reading either one of these just a little bit that you should go for it!

I really liked Paris In Love too because James was honest. While she loved Paris, she didn’t paint it as perfect.

I haven’t started the Graceling series yet, but now that you have recommended the third book, it looks like I better get cracking! I have also been hearing such good things about Paris in love and am glad that you are enjoying it!

I still haven’t read Graceling, even though I’ve been eyeing the book for about three years now. Bitterblue does sound good.

I preferred Fire to Graceling if that is any additional incentive
I think because I read Graceling after all the buzz and it was hard for the book to live up to expectations, whereas my expectations weren’t super-high for Fire. I liked it a lot. I will have to look out for Bitterblue!
