This is Hollister Peak (and some hay):
It’s one of the Nine Sisters, a chain of volcanic plugs that run between Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo.
Some people say Hollister Peak looks like a dinosaur, but I’ve never seen it. Instead, I see a puppy draped over a hill. The highest rocky part is the butt, with a back leg trailing down the right side. The rocky part in the middle is a front leg with a giant paw. And to the left is the long head (it’s kinda moose-like), with two eensy-weensy ears sticking up.
I have seen the puppy on the mountain since I was 8 years old (when we first moved here), and to this day, every time I drive past Hollister Peak (which has been practically every day for the past 20 years) I see him. Well, I see him when I’m driving south. He’s not there when I drive home.
What’s surprising is that I have yet to name him. Maybe I should just call him Hollie? Or maybe Buddy. Buddy Hollister.
Yep, that’s it.

Beautiful. Just a spot I’d love to run through!

I don’t see a dinosaur or puppy. I guess I have no imagination.

Kind of like the old pound puppies but with a bigger head! I see it, and agree with the moose-like description (I was thinking cartoonish).
There a hill near where I used to live that always looked like it had a cougar laying on top of it, but I don’t know if anyone else ever “saw” it. I know my husband didn’t when I showed him.

I see Buddy with his great big nose. I always see stuff like this and want to climb it.

I SEE THE PUPPY!
I’ll have to look for him in person next time I’m down there.
