Umm, yeah. So I seem to have forgotten I have a blog.
Ooops?
I haven’t forgotten about books, though. I have been reading my buns off! I’ve read 11 books so far this month, and should finish #12 tomorrow (work trip to Fresno…coworker drives, I read). Most of the books have been OMG so good (examples: How to Become a Woman, Just My Type, The Death of Bees, Quiet, My Bookstore, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, In the Time of the Butterflies) and one made me feel distinctly stabby, but also made me go woo-hoo at the end because I finished my #peeon book:
That’s right, I defeated Dickens. And now we’re divorced and I’ve put him out of my mind.
Are you #peeon-ing? If so, how’s it going for ya?
In other readalong news, don’t forget we’re on for the #shineon starting February 1st! I promise a for-reals sign-up post this weekend. And yes, there will be a button.

I cannot wait to see what you do for a #shineon button! I cannot wait to get started. I should be finishing up my current audiobook on Monday or Tuesday, so I will definitely be ready to start on February 1st. More Stephen King love!
Ah, I need to read The Death of Bees! Glad that you’ve reading a lot! I’ve been going slow but steady which is good enough but I need to down on the TV time (and work, ha!).
Congrats on defeating the beast that is Dickens! May he never plague you again!
Also, In the Time of the Butterflies is SO good. I read it ages ago (back when I was still in highschool… instead of doing my math homework…) and I remember being so touched by it. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it!
Welcome back! I was starting to have those, “WTF! Where’s Jill?” moments every few days, so I’m glad to see you posting! Good for you with ALL the reading. I wish I was having that much mojo, but sadly no. Not bad reading experiences, just slow. Par for the course.
Considering the Shine-on. Crazy.
*smiles*
LOVE the button! I have had an acceptation month of good reads as well. I think I am on book book 11 for the month and should come out of the week with 12+ reads/audio for January. On the “EXCELLENT” list currently would be The Midwife’s Tale, Gilly Salt Sisters, and Gods In Alabama. In the pretty darn good category would be Level 2, Between The Lines, Belly Of Jonah, Will To Murder and The story of Edgar Sawtelle.
Well, I kinda had hoped to make Les Miserables my pee-on book but I’m peeing like an old man with a prostate problem – I may still be peeing on this beastie in March! You, on the other hand, are cranking out the books. Amazing how much reading you can get done if you stay off the computer!
Well hi! Glad to hear you’re divorcing Dickens … that must feel good!
I totally forgot that I need to read Perks in the next few weeks for book club. Thinking it will be a nice diversion from The Shining. I also read your review of In the Time of Butterflies but didn’t feel like leaving a “Ooooh, I want to read this but can’t remember if I have this book or another of hers on my shelf” comment.
But glad to see you back around. Care and I were just talking about you the other day….. muahahahaha.
