Davis, CA you say? I’m already typing it into Google Maps to see just how far a drive it would be from where we are staying in Orange County at the end of March…
Yeah, seriously? WHERE do they get their meat? I’m all anxious, especially after the horse meat in the Burger King burgers. IT COULD BE ANYTHING. Heather´s last [type] ..Wordless Wednesday – The Best Nap Partner. Ever.*
Okay, I must be a moron. I’m only about 60 or so pages in but I didn’t make the connection that redrum was murder backwards. When it came up in the book, I was just like, whaaaa?
You are NOT a moron! I think it is awesome that you are going into this blank – it’s refreshing. I haven’t even seen the movie (all the way through; I’ve seen scenes and that Nicholson grimace) but I know more than I wish. Care´s last [type] ..Bookish Memories
Care, I really don’t know anything about it. I can’t deal with scary movies. I don’t even do PG-13 horror. We’ll see how I handle this book. I’ve heard the movie is much scarier than the book, though. Kristi´s last [type] ..Two Chunkster Readalongs
I remember being very surprised by the meaning of REDRUM in the movie, so the name of this diner is kind of a spoiler for the book, but it’s one of those that you figure so many people know about, like Anna Karenina doing you-know-what at the end, that you don’t even think about it! I wouldn’t have caught on early in the book, either, if I didn’t already know. Laurie C´s last [type] ..Ultramarathons & Human Endurance: The Longest Race by Ed Ayres @AudioGO
My name is Softdrink. Seriously. (Okay, fine. It's Jill. But I swear I answer to Softdrink.)
Most of what you'll find here is my disjointed thoughts on what I'm reading. Along with random life stuff...basically, whatever I feel like chatting about. Because this is my blog and I call the shots.
I've divorced myself from the term "book blogger." I don't write reviews and I don't accept books for review. Although, if you're a friend and you want to share books, I'm cool with that.
Whatcha lookin’ for?

Words to Live By
In a real sense, people who have read good literature have lived more than people who cannot or will not read. It is not true that we have only one life to live; if we can read, we can live as many more lives and as many kinds of lives as we wish. ~S.I. Hayakawa
The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.
~St. Augustine
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.
~Mark Twain
Oh, I like the new name MUCH better than the old one, and I think all the King fans agree!

My book club read Plato’s Republic one year, and then we found a diner called Plato’s Diner. It served Greek food and everything. What a great meetup!
Redrum Burger is just a little spookier than Plato!

That is awesome! Though I must say, the name of the restaurant doesn’t really put me in the mood for meat.
