So I opened up my Google Reader last night only to read the message that it’s going away in July.
??!!??!!??!!
Also…
@#$%&^*@$@!
Not to mention:
Doesn’t Google realize that I don’t like to deal with pesky changes like that? I’m already crap about keeping up with comments…now I’m going to have to find another option so I can continue to be crap at commenting.
Thanks, Google. Thanks a lot.

I know, I’m totally ticked.
I’m so pissed too. It’s so silly and now I’m so annoyed at Google I’m going to switch away from using Chrome as my browser too. I joined feedly this morning and so far I don’t hate it. It’s not GR but it does come close enough that I think I can learn to accept it.
I just transitioned to Feedly. It imported all my subscriptions and looks sort of similar to reader once I adjusted the view.
Ditto to everything you just said. Especially @#$%&^*@$@!
I’m not happy either. I didn’t like Feedly and would really rather not go back to it if I can avoid it. Who has time to look for another feed reader?? Not me. Ugh.
I don’t really understand why. Doesn’t have the world use it? I use my blogger feed, and it is probably awful compared to other things but I am kind of a simpleton in that way.
Google is killing me. First, they take away the sharing option on GR. Now since so many people have quit using GR, they’re taking the whole damn thing away. Maybe if they just bring back the sharing option, everyone will start using it again. Ugh. I’m switching to Bloglovin. It’s okay so far.
SO FRUSTRATING! I have downloaded the Feedly app that works, but not on my computer
I am so so mad at Google!! Why are they killing products that people use!
I just read over at Natalie’s blog that Feedly is an alternative that is easy to use, and quite nice looking. I am going to check it out. If it’s any good, I will let you know.
WORD.
Ditto. The news actually got me on Twitter for the first time in like a year.
Pissed beyond belief. There are no words. Hulk smash.
I haven’t actually read blogs IN Google Reader itself for a couple of years, but I’ve used readers that synced to my GR account, and I think that counts. This does NOT make me happy. Supposedly, Feedly will make a “seamless” transition. It better, because I have no desire to resubscribe to all my feeds!
lol I’ve been very dramatic in my reaction to this but basically I feel like someone is taking the internet away from me.
Yup…lots of disappointed bloggers out there.
Here is a link that might help you select an alternative:

UGHHH. I imported to The Old Reader (from that link Diane just posted), but it’s taking forever to import my feed since probably 48920432 people are doing the same. Looks lovely, though.
DAMN YOU GOOGLE.
I’ve been trying out Feedly for the last couple of days and I think I might end up liking it better than GR, once I get used to it.
I hear you. I am currently in denial.
Right now, I thought I loved Feedly, and I do, but I’m playing around with Bloglovin, and it’s not so bad. Google certainly makes odd decisions.
I’m printing off a list of all the blogs I have in GR and I’m pencil marking a check every time I visit. Going OLD SCHOOL. I can already tell that this is shutting down traffic… Happy April. Mail coming…
